Coleman 1596: "A narrative of early Kentucky exploration written in Old English hexameter. The appendix lists members of the Society of Colonial Wars in Kentucky." Jillson, who was the official state geologist and the unofficial state historian wrote almost 100 books. In his foreword, he states he chose this poetic form because it captured the Elizabethan - the Colonial - period which, in this narrative ends in 1774. Includes the exploits of Daniel Boone and James Harrod.
