London: George G. Harrap, 1930. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Katy Kruse. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Blue cloth spine with blue paper rear board and illustrated front board. Light edge-wear and paper chipped at the corners. Bookseller's ink stamp to inner corner of front endpaper. Overall a clean and tight copy, contents very clean. Complete with 12 full page plates in colour, inserted out of order. Nice copy.

London, Harrap, 1930.. FIRST EDITION 1930. Small 4to, 280 x 225 mm, 11 x 8¾ inches, cloth backed colour illustrated boards. Coloured frontispiece and 11 colour plates. All the plates are delightfully photographed scenes with dressed dolls in various activities: parties, exercising, boating, football, motoring etc. 32 pages of text. Corners very slightly rubbed, small slightly grazed patch in top margin of upper cover, couple of tiny grazes to background of cover touched up to match, couple of small margin tears repaired, occasional very slight very pale foxing. Illustrated with twelve color plates from photographs of dolls costumed and posed in various scenes of play and pretend - motorcycle riding, soccer, skiing, playing in a band, camping, flying, canoeing, etc. Blue cloth with color illustration mounted on the front cover, 31 pages plus plates. Lower corner has been chewed by the previous owner's puppy, with some chipping and fraying and a few additional little teeth marks, small abraded area at lower portion of front cover (above author name) where it appears some masking tape may have been removed. Light additional fraying to spine ends, sound binding with a minor internal crack to the front hinge (structurally sound), old foxing to endpapers, very very minor chipping to a few lower corners from the puppy chew, pages very clean and free from names or other markings, plates in very good condition.. The covers have wear on the edges.An inscription and a name sticker is on the front end page. Pages have toning that look to me to be the way they were from the beginning but could be from age. The illustrations are unblemished. Other than the cover damage mentioned earlier the book is in very good condition. The binding is tight and the pages do not have markings.
