New York: Brentano's, 1926., 1926.. Very good. LIMITED EDITION SIGNED BY THE ILLUSTRATOR JOHN KETTELWELL - Quarto, 10-3/8 inches high by 7-7/8 inches wide. Light blue paper covered boards backed with a natural vellum paper spine with vellum paper corners, titled in gilt in English on the spine and in Arabic on the front cover. The top edge is gilt. The spine is rubbed and darkened. xiii, [i] & 169 pages, printed on vellum with wide margins and the text framed within decorative borders, with 12 full-page illustrations by John Kettelwell. Very good.
Number 10 of a limited edition of only 50 large paper copies signed by the illustrator John Kettelwell.
From the collection of "The Gordons" with their attractive bookplate mounted on the front pastedown. Gordon Gordon and his wife Mildred Nixon Gordon were crime fiction writers. Many of their books featured the protagonist FBI agent John "Rip" Ripley.
