London: Barrie & Rockliff, The Cresset Press, 1968. Hardcover. 259p., very good first UK edition in boards and unclipped lightly-worn dj. Stories of second-generation Jews in NYC in the 1930s on the eve of the Spanish Civil War. The author, a friend of Paul Goodman, started writing late in life after retiring from business due to illness. He died in 1975 on the street near his home from a heart attack. This is his best-known work.
