About This Item
Wesel: W. Dums, n.y.. Hardcover. Illustrations by W. Schafer. 8vo. Red cloth spine and red paper over boards with large color pictorial plate to front board. 119pp. Color frontispiece, full-page color plate. Good plus. A bit edgeworn and with spine faintly sunned; front joint cracked but holding. A tight and quite attractive later printing (25th through 30th thousand of the new edition) of these moral tales for young adults, entirely in German. Title translation: "From Youth: Two Tales for Mature Youth." The front board graphic, frontispiece and illustration are bright, bold and just plain charming. undated, but a pencilled ownership signature (from the famed German Pietist settlement at Amana, Iowa) on front flyleaf dated 1904 places this at turn of the century.
