Oak Knoll Books has bought the last few remaining copies of this title from the publisher. Reprints an article which first appeared in "The Book-Lover's Answer" of July 1965. Gives an interesting summary of the history of children's books, as well as useful suggestions on how to start collecting. Contains 18 black and white illustrations.

Light crease at the spine of the front cover. ; A humorous tale of a crow or raven who successively, page after page, drinks and drains numerous glasses of spirits until its view of the world blurs, it stands, then falls on its back. Told wordlessly, with drawings only, and the story line is obvious. The stylized head and beak of the bird reoccur in Steinlen's book illustrations of crows and vultures. Swiss-born, creative polymath Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen (1859-1923) was painter, fabric designer, sculptor, periodical publisher, printmaker, and illustrator. Bound in orange cloth boards with title on front cover. Signed and numbered by the artist. This is the miniature version of Emeritz's large format edition of "Hand-Carved Alpha-Bet". As with the larger version the miniature alphabet book was printed with letters that were hand carved in wood by the artist. Each letter is a capital letter printed in orange.

Each shape is displayed twice on facing pages. The left side shows the image in white with color background in ink. The right side shows the shape printed in ink with a white background. The seven shapes and colors are: Circle - Orange; Square - Blue; Triangle - Orange; Arrow - Gray; Heart - Orange; Star - Blue; Hand - Orange.
