(New York: American Society for Psychical Research), 1912., 1912.. Very good. - Octavo, softcover bound in printed blue wraps. There are some tiny white marks & a small light stain to the front cover & its edges are slightly darkened. Pages [181]-268. Illustrated with a folding black-and-white plate. There is a tiny stain to the fore-edge with a small stain to page 260 & offsetting from the plate. Very good.

This issue largely consists of a lengthy article "A Complicated Group of Experiences and Experiments" by James H. Hyslop with detailed records of the spirit communications involved. The case concerns an assistant to a lawyer George F. Duysters, a Miss De Camp, who is in communication with the dead fiction writer Frank R. Stockton. Through automatic writing, Stockton appears to be writing some stories that would complete an unfinished work and also to be seeking to establish his identity to the living. On a later occasion, Miss De Camp was urged to find a sketch given to the now deceased Mr. Duysters. While she is holding it in her lap, the pencil in her hand fills in the details of the sketch [pictured in the folding plate].

(New York: American Society for Psychical Research), 1908., 1908.. Fair. - Octavo, softcover bound in printed tan wraps. The wraps are detached and the spine is chipped & torn. Pages [259]-309 plus [3] pages of ads. The first few pages have stains around the staples. Fair. "Section 'B' of the American Institute for Scientific Research".The featured articles in this issue are both by James H. Hyslop: In "Personal Identity" Hyslop discusses the violent opposition between believers and sceptics in relation to physical manifestations that are met with in psychic research. He attributes this to the difference between "visualizers" -- those who conceive of a person's identity in purely visual terms and those who conceive of it in terms of the person's inner life and activity. "A Record of Experiments" continues a series of detailed records of Hyslop's investigations of paranormal activities. This one concerns a case of clairvoyance.
