Salt Lake City, UT: The General Board, Young Men's Mutual Improvement Associations, 1908. First Edition. Octavo. . 173pp., The author's second book. The author was a professor of agriculture at Brigham Young University, and is arguably the founding father of BYU's college of biology and agriculture. He was also married to Brigham Young's daughter Susan. The book was written for the then, younger generation. It is based on the conviction that there is no real difference between science and religion. The great fundamental laws of the universe are the foundation stones in religion as well as in science. The author states that this book is only a small part of the treatment of the "Mormon" Philosophy. Bound in black cloth lettered and decorated in gilt spine lettering gilt, some rubbing and fading to boards, light wear to spine ends, previous owner's name in pencil Elder Paul W. Beebe, Safford, AZ who died in 1939, then the book was passed to David W. Beebe whose name is stamped on the front and rear pastedowns. A very good copy. [Flake; 9814].
