With four full-page reproductions of Istler's work. Signed by Istler to the front page. Fine condition. Ephemeral exhibition catalog, printed as a poster, for a group of works around the concept of "heads," comprising forty lithographs produced between 1958 and 1965. With a lengthy text by Jaromír Pe írka and a short biography and exhibition history of the artist. Istler was a founding member of the Skupina RA (Group RA), a Czech post-war surrealist formation which sharply distinguished itself from pre-war Czech surrealism. The author's essay looks closely at Istler's surrealist influences, referring both to his theoretical works and to the writings of Teige, Ludvík Kundera, Vratislav Effenberger, and others. Scarce, especially signed. Not in KVK, OCLC.
