Octavo, original wrappers, illustrated with engravings and five tipped-in photographs, ribbon bound in. Housed in a custom chemise case. In fine condition. The John Hopkins Medical History Club was founded on November 10,1890 by Dr. William Osler, Dr. William H. Welch, Dr. Howard A. Kelly and a group of thirty Hopkins physicians. The club stimulated a great deal of interest in the history of medicine and produced a variety of valuable studies. The present program commemorating the club's fiftieth anniversary contains opening remarks by Dr. Nicholas J. Eastman, reminiscences from Dr. Howard A. Kelly, and a history of the club's early days by Dr. William G. MacCallum.
