Boston: Balch Brothers. VG or a bit better in general. 1902. later ptg. hardcover. 8vo . 3000+pp . 3/4 red morocco with marbled papers for binding. Vols. have a little wear to head, heel, corners. Enf p. V. 10 partly split. This group lacks volume 7 (which covers The Rhine, Belgium, Holland, and Mexico), but does include the 1st supplementary volume (Ireland, Denmark and Sweden). A nice uniform set in an attractive red leather. All the bindings are tight and square, except for the front gutter of volume 10, which has a couple of 1" splits on the hinge, but is still doing its job. The bookseller who had this before us described this as "Fine set", and quite frankly, it is neither: It is not a set, because it doesn't have all the volumes, and it is not fine, although it is quite decent. I believe there were a total of 5 supplementary volumes in the series. The leatherbound ones like this are much nicer than the cloth. NO PRIORITY OR INTERNATIONAL ON THIS, BUT WE WILL SEND MEDIA MAIL FOR THE SINGLE BOOK DEFAULT PRICE. More info or scan on request. .
