Beautiful, marbled endpapers. Gilt text block edges. Tight and square binding. Edges and hinges rubbed. Stephen Vincent Benet, a prominent early 20th century poet, wrote his most famous book-length poem about the Civil War. Benét won the Pulitzer Prize for his acclaimed poem named after the song about the great martyr for emancipation, John Brown.
