Remarkable story of a Man of Courage, Nerve and True Resource. Frontis illustrated with a B&W seated Portrait of John Boyes, protected by tissue guard. 10 more Full=Page B&W Plates ( one is missing from the 12 ). Mao of Kikuyu-land near the back. Red cloth cover with Gilt Lettering to front & spine. All page edges Untrimmed. 320 Pages + 29 Page Publisher's Catalogue. 9" Tall, 750g. Some patchy fading to cloth. Spine tanned. Closed tears to cloth down left side of spine and half-way down right side. Corners worn. Rear free endpaper removed. Old library label, dated 1914, on endpaper and a small, very faint, stamp at bottom of title page. No other inscriptions or stamps. Marginal tear to corner of one page and a few pages creased at corner to mark page (a horrid habit). Only a very occasional, faint spot of foxing, Pages in nice, clean condition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
