About This Item

London, Warne, (1945).. Reprint circa 1945, inscribed 1952, 215 x 165 mm, 8½ x 6½ inches, cream cloth, red vignette and lettering, green illustrated endpapers, 60 pages. Coloured frontispiece and 15 very pretty colour plates, plus many line drawings, all by Tarrant. All the illustrations are of flower fairies and small children. Covers very faintly marked, tiniest bump to top corner of upper cover, front inner paper hinge partly cracked, binding firm, neat inscription on reverse of half-title. A couple of small very pale marks to 2 facing margins. Very good plus in good plus colour illustrated white DUSTWRAPPER (dw: not price clipped (7/6), 10 mm (½") missing at head and tail of spine, small chips to corners, 3 short closed edge tears, some pale staining in the margins on upper panel, lower panel lightly soiled). First published undated in 1935 in blue cloth, reprinted a year later dated 1936 also in blue cloth. The latest title on the rear flap of our dustwrapper was issued in 1944.
