a rare find of this neglected author & playwright. She wrote 16 novels, 10 plays & poetry. She was friends with Dos Passos and Hemingway. It was common knowledge that she had a long affair with Joh Howard Lawson. Diana Trilling said of her, "She's our best answer to the famiiar question, ' Who really says the funny things for which Dorothy Parker gets credit."
