Exeter: A. Wheaton & Co., Ltd, 1959. FIRST EDITION. 4to. Numerous b/w illustrations and plates. Maroon cloth, silver lettering to spine. Illustrated endpapers. Extremities lightly bruised. Edges lightly foxed, a few spots to front and rear. Else, clean and tight. In the fabulous original dust jacket: shelf-soiled, rubbed and nicked, edges creased, uneven sunning to rear panel. Still, a pleasing, bright copy. Very good/ very good. Chapter 1: From Cuttlefish to Jet-Propulsion.
