Paperback. 185p., text in French, avant-propos, lightly-worn and toned paperback original in cream wraps, rubricated title, untrimmed, original glassine wrapper, ownership bookplate of Luc Somerhausen. Jaurès was a leader of the SFIO, a heterodox Marxist and antimilitarist who was assassinated by French nationalist Raoul Villain at the outbreak of WWI.

Somerhausen, the previous owner of the book, was a journalist who became a member of Jeunes Gardes socialistes of Saint-Gilles at age 17, fought for The Resistance during WWII, was captured and imprisoned where he was a cofounder of the freemason lodge Liberté Chérie and in 1948 became a member of the Communist Party.
