In the 1950s Finks played quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He coached Paul Horning to a Heisman Trophy at Notre Dame. Finks built Super Bowl teams as general manager of the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. He took the New Orleans Saints to the playoffs. This is his story, with contributions from 7 award-winning sportswriters including Jim Klobuchar; Will McDonough; Eric Bishop; and Jack Clary. Finks was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1995. Among the illustrations is a full color photo of the Vikings "Purple Gang" - Jim Marshall, Carl Eller, Alan Page and Gary Larsen. Laid-in is the publisher's 4 page mailer promoting the book.
