Faber & Faber, London, 1954. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition (ex-library)/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Photographic. Foreword by author, list of plates, acknowledgements, introduction by author, marks, select bibliography and index. Colour photographic frontispiece, showing a Teapot from Venice approximately 1720-27. The text is illustrated with 95 pages of black-and-white photographs – at the rear of the book. Bright green coloured cloth covered boards dark red coloured insert to the back strip and within the insert and to the back strip gilt coloured titles. A look at Italian porcelain in the 18th century. This book is an ex-library book and has the faults of same: – numerous library stamps are present, but have been covered over using a black coloured marker, including the top and rear text block edges. Remnants of tape can be seen to the endpages and there is softening and rubbing of the back strip edges and rubbing of the book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and pages.
