About This Item

Chicago, Il: Advent Pub Inc, 1964. 1st Edition 3rd Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Issued Without Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition third printing 1970. Hardback book is tight clean and square. Boards sharp and clean, title gilt perfect. Text block clean, with a hint of toning to edges. The pages are crisp and unblemished. Feels very lightly read. Fine condition. This is a privately bound copy and has no jacket as bound. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A lovely very tight example of this title, a collection of SF criticism essays collected primarily from fanzines of the late '50s and early '60s. Originally issued under James Blish's pen name William Atheling Jr. A fascinating volume for SF collectors, and an uncommon title in the UK.
