Illustrator: Claire Simpson. 600 g; 248 pages, with decorated end pages, and gilt decorated front board. Colour illustrated photographic dustwrapper. The dust jacket is now in 3 parts, with some loss. Now protected. The book itself shows no signs of damage, aside from age darkening of the edges of the text block. . These are vivid studies of Melanesia, present fact systematic as fiction, true stories as beguiling as romance.
