Jacket faintly edgeworn only and somewhat age toned, but complete and quite attractive. First edition in tight, bright condition of this murder mystery with (to cite flap copy) "Eight guests in a penthouse, nineteen stories above the city streets...." The 1934 film "The Ninth Guest" is based on this book, which explains this copy's two choice autograph additions: Tipped to the front flyleaf are signatures of two of the film's stars! At top is DONALD WOOD, who signs a heavy stock 2½" X 2½" card in green ink, adding "To Alberta / Sincerely." Very good. Below this is HELEN FLINT, who signs a blue 3¼" X 2¼" slip boldly in black ink, adding "Sincerely yours." Fine. Wood (1901-61) plays lead James Daly, and Flint (1898-1967) plays Sylvia Inglesby. Delightful jacket art shows skyscrapers at night, an enormous King Kong-size skeleton creeping up over their tops. A unique copy in first-rate condition.
