U.S. Surveyor General's Office, 1890. Very Good. Daggett, Ellsworth. Instructions to U.S. Deputy Mineral Surveyors for the District of Utah, May 1890 (Park City). Salt Lake City: U.S. Surveyor General's Office, 1890. 38, 11pp. 12mo. Tan calf. Book condition: Good with small loss in upper right corner of front cover. Head of spine chipped and splitting, and rubbed and bumped edges. Endsheets cracked but holding. Jesse Williams Fox's name penciled on front free endsheet. Folding ""Specimen Preliminary Plate"" for the Misers Dream Lode in Summit County Utah bound in. In good condition with a small closed tear in middle of left side and two cracks along middle fold, and chipped and yellowed edges Also contains ""Circular to Applicants for Mineral Surveys and Also to Deputy Surveyors and Others in or Having Business with the U.S. Surveyor Generals Office for District of Utah"". Ex-libris Jesse Williams Fox (1819-1994), who was a land surveyor. Fox was bapitsed into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Nauvoo in 1844. He left Nauvoo in 1846. He surveyed the sites for the Salt Lake, Manti, and Logan temples. He was later appointed Chief Engineer of Utah Central and Utah Southern railroads. We gathered this information from Jensen, 1901.
