New York: The Eagle Press, 1909. Paperback. 71p., wraps, 5.5x8.5 inches, tables, wraps lightly worn, some unopened leaves else very good condition. Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, in the Faculty of Political Science, Columbia University. Parmelee was a sociologist, government official, economist, and the author of the first American textbook on criminology. He was fired from government service after being accused of subversion by Congressman Martin Dies because of his books on socialism (Bolshevism, Fascism and the Liberal-Democratic State) and nudism (Nudism in Modern Life: The New Gymnosophy).
