A first edition, first printing (first impression) with ' First Published 1980' to the copyright page and no additional printings meeting the first edition criteria for this publisher, Illustrations by Robin Jacques. There are two jackets present one priced at £4.95 and the other £5.95 - perhaps one is a second or later state jacket. The dust jacket is in near fine condition with a some very light rubbing to the crown of the spine. The text is fine with light toning, tight binding and in fine condition. The UK edition is exceptionally uncommon with many going through the library system this copy has no library markings. Signed via a Author cut signature which has been neatly and professionally affixed to the front inner board..

Synopsis

The Indian in the Cupboard is a children's book written by British author Lynne Reid Banks, and illustrated by Brock Colein 1980. It has received numerous awards, and was made into a film in 1995. The book was followed by four sequels: The Return of the Indian (1985), The Secret of the Indian (1989), The Mystery of the Cupboard (1992), and The Key to the Indian (1998). All were published by Doubleday Books in hardcover, then by Avon Books, now HarperCollins, in paperback.
