Among the artists contributing prints were, Chaim Gross, Clara Klinghoffer, Robert Gwathmey, Bertram Goodman, Sternberg, and Marcel Vertes. Folio, original color illustrated wrappers, spiral bound. One of a series of annual volumes published in conjunction with an annual ball, and New York, Artists Equity Association, 1957. Scarce. A near fine copy. Limited to 2000 copies.<br/><br/> "First conceived in 1950 from an idea by Julio de Diego, Improvisations has been accepted as a novel and original medium by advertisers in sympathy with the ideals of the Artists Equity Association. The member-artists who illustrated this journal were in most cases selected by the advertisers from our membership list and were given complete freedom of expression. La revista Encuentro de la Cultura Cubana se publicó en Madrid entre el verano de 1996 y el otoño de 2009, tiempo durante el que llegaría a completar un total de cincuenta y cuatro números, varios de ellos dobles. Su existencia sirvió de contrapunto a los discursos de los medios intelectuales del sistema institucional de la cultura al interior de la isla.
