Nevins calls the book "A very readable and reliable narrative by a member of the 15th Texas Cavalry who saw much service in the Western theater; the volume deserves more attention than it has heretofore received." Quite scarce. Bound in blue cloth decorated in blind, spine lettering gilt, edges, spine ends and corners show some wear, previous owner's name. [ Howes C597; Nevins I, p.72.].
