Original red blindstamped cloth with gilt design and titles on spine. Engraved frontispiece and title page. One of the volumes in Parley's Cabinet Library for Schools and Families. Most of the book is devoted to stories about mammals, then there is a little bit about birds (including anecdotes about passenger pigeons) and the rest of the animal kingdom gets the last 31 pages. 336 pp + 4 pp of publisher's ads. ; The Cabinet Library; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall .
