London: O'Brien, Thomas & Company, 1893. First Edition Thus. Blue Cloth. Very Good/N/a. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Various. 962pp. Original publisher's cloth. Blind stamped spine and front board - with gilt embossed crest to front board. A very scarce trade catalogue of O'brien, Thomas and Company, London. A very extensive builders Merchant's catalogue, which includes numerous charming chromolithographic plates. A number of colour plates of fire places/pieces (tile register stoves!) tile panels for stoves/fire places, hearth tiles - glazed, enamelled and embossed. Numerous colour plates for kitchen stoves (kitcheners) and also for ranges. Two colour leaves of paint colours (part loss to one example) with the original tissue guard in between. Thousands of line drawings of other items for sale including sanitary ware, garden furniture, over mantle mirrors and many other goods. A full page engraving of the front elevation to Upper Thames street of O'Brien, Thomas & Co.s' premises. A two page engraving by Hare of O'Brien, Thomas and Co.'s warehouses and showrooms, from the river - white lion wharf - upper Thames Street. Other engravings include theatre and music hall chairs and all the usual pipes, knobs and taps. Some splitting to inner hinges - though boards remain firm. Several corners bumped and some rubbing to cloth casing - most noticably to rear board. A super example of a scarce trade catalogue from 1890's London. Digital images on request.
