London: Nonesuch Press, 1931. Leather Bound. Full russet niger morocco, marbled endpapers. Near fine in very good matching marbled slipcases. 927, 659 pages. 27 x 16 cm. Limited editions: 1227 of 1350 and 280 of 1300 respectively, the two volumes being largely unopened. Text in Greek (parallel with the English translation of Alexander Pope, which was first published in 17250) and printed in red and black, The pale gray Pannekoek mould-made paper printed at Enschede en Zonen in Haarlem with ornamental type throughout. Wood-engraved head pieces by Rudolf Koch and Fritz Kredel. Raised bands. spines very slightly darkened, some mottling to Iliad covers, probably caused by misapplied leather dressing.
