Green cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Board and edges show spotting. Inscribed and signed by the author on the front free end page and aided Easter, 1942. Pages are clean and binding is tight, no other handwriting noted. Page darkening and foxing is present though mainly on the end page and pastedowns. First edition thus with single date of March 7, 1942 listed on the copyright page.
