About This Item
Zürich: Galerie Andres Thalmann, 2012. First Edition, First Printing. [Edition of 1300 copies-not numbered]. Softcover. Near Fine. 32 unnumbered pages, 17 full page color plates, biography, solo exhibitions etc.. Essay by Alice Henkes. 20cm. Square 4to. Illustrated wraps. Book Condition: Near fine, with one tiny bent corner to rear panel else fine. A gorgeous catalog of gorgeous Morris Louis-like paintings practically vibrating with pure color. [Not to be confused with a later show of Davenport's (2016) at the same gallery. This is a much more rare catalog to find in acceptable condition.]. In Swedish and English (Davenport is a Brit). Davenport is surprisingly open about his methods of achieving the effects of his "Puddle Paintings" shown in this exhibition. Morris Louis was said to be super secretive about his technique, hastily covering his canvases the second anyone showed up to his studio.
