Decorative yellow cloth. Spine lightly scuffed and covers have light spots of soil. Interior tight, bright and unmarked. No jacket.

The red cloth covers are printed with the image of the top of the child's head and hat, owl and blocks. Very clean inside, no library markings, but some sort of plate removal from the inside front cover, very neatly done. No dust jacket. One short repaired tear to the lower edge of the last printed page. 10" high X 8" wide. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good.

Decorative yellow cloth. Corners and spine tips lightly rubbed. Property stamp on front end paper, front hinge starting to split at gutters + covers lightly soiled, else unmarked throughout. Edge worn jacket with several small tears / creases looks nice in archival protector. New York Times Best Illustrated Children's Book 1956.

Ex-school lib with a few stamps and spine sticker shadow - not as badly marked up as most. Pocket has been neatly removed from rear endpaper. Text has bright, very lightly worn cloth. Typical light signs of children's handling, edge-tears to a few pages. Glue shadows on endpapers from old mylar dj cover (covered by dj so not noticeable). The page tears have been properly repaired with archival glue and are not too noticeable. Dj in fresh mylar is price-clipped, has a couple of short tears, small chips to base of spine. This is the uncommon and better-quality H, B & W Library Binding edition. Hard-to-find book with very bright, fresh dj, better than most ex-lib copies. Good/VG. Scan of dj available.

Cloth covers lightly soiled, else fine in lightly rumpled, price-clipped jacket with small piece of tape on front flap. Ann and Paul Rand's first children's book and a New York Times Best Illustrated Children's Book 1956.

Yellow cloth in white, illustrated dust jacket. The dust jacket, priced at $2.75, is lightly soiled, with, regrettably, its rear flap has been cut away. Yellow boards are soiled, with the spine's foot and tail with bumping and rubbed through. Front hinge cracking, but firm. A Very Good - copy (essentially a placeholder), in Very Good, and extremely scarce, dust jacket. The dj is now protected in a mylar sleeve.

A solid, very presentable copy to boot of the 1956 stated 1st edition. Clean and Near Fine in a crisp, price-intact ($2.75), VG dustjackjet, with mild darkening --and just a touch of light chipping-- along the edges and several closed tears and very light chipping to the spine. Written by Ann Rand, beautifully illustrated by the formidable Paul Rand. One of 4 wonderfully-designed children's books from the '50s and '60s that the Rands created together.
