SIGNED by Edward Sanders on the colophon, one of 125 signed and numbered copies. A collection of 35 poems.

CONDITION: One small ink dot to top edge, another small ink dot to bottom edge, couple of vertical creases to rear of acetate dust jacket. Very Good or better.

The first appearance of these poems, dating from 1949-51. Harold Pinter notes in his short introduction that he rediscovered the poems "by chance. They represent my earliest work." One of 450 unsigned copies (an additional 50 were signed and numbered).

Octavo (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches; 216 x 138 mm), [20] pages, in gray stapled wrappers.
INSCRIBED by Jack Hirschman on the front free end paper to the late Seattle bookseller Louis Collins: "For Louis / and your gypsy / spirit." One of only 100 numbered copies. A long poem inspired by the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. The "triana" of the title refers to a gypsy settlement. With an accompanying manilla envelope addressed by Hirschman to Collins.
Hirschman, a former poet laureate of San Francisco and radical social activist, died in August 2021. He was 87 years old.
OCLC shows five institutional holdings: SUNY Buffalo, Berkeley, Kansas, Delaware, and the Sacramento Public Library. SCARCE.
CONDITION: The book is Fine. The manilla envelope is Very Good (some creases and soiling).

Los Angeles: Astro Artz, 1986. Quarto (11 x 8 1/2 inches; 278 x 215 mm), 96 pages, in illustrated wrappers (soft cover). An issue of the important Los Angeles arts quarterly, High Performance. This issue, from 1986, features Fluxus artist Joseph Beuys, who had died earlier in the year. Other articles deal with the avant-garde dance form, butoh, performance comic Michael Smith, multimedia artist Michel Lemieux, the Banff Art Centre in Alberta, Anna Halprin's international peace dance called Circle the Earth, and numerous art and performance reviews. High Performance was published from 1978 until 1997. Copies of this particular issue are scarce to the market. CONDITION: Edge wear and scuffing, especially to rear cover and to spine. A Very Good copy.
