About This Item

Indianapolis: Daniel Sommer, 1895. Hardcover. 8vo. Green cloth. 224pp. Very good. Would be near fine but for faint number near spine tail -- but evidently just a private collection number and not an ex-library copy, for there are no other markings whatsoever. First edition, tight and bright and quite attractive. Uncommon. Bizarre study (which the author modestly describes as "intended for the benefit of mankind") of "fear or dread of water," which began with the author when he was bitten by his dog -- which he claims "probably had the Hydrophobia, otherwise called Rabies." Hmmm.
