North Adams and Cambridge, MA: Mass MoCA and the MIT Press, 2015. A fine copy save a few trivial bumps to extremities of boards. Oblong (10 x 12 inches). 173 pages. Duotone photographs. Pictorial boards. First edition. Ross went into the surf itself to photograph storm-tossed waves during hurricanes, wearing a wet suit, flotation vest and a rope tethering him to his assistant on the beach. The results are stunning images of this scarcely seen natural environment, at once representational and abstract.
