He was the first photographer to enter Belsen. After the war, he founded the Magnum photography agency with Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, David 'Chim' Seymour, and William Vandivert. Sick of war, Rodger went to Africa where he lived with and photographed the Nuba. He is recognized as one of the best photojournalists of the 20th-century. Photographs and afterword by George Rodger; text by Bruce Bernard; foreword by Henri Cartier-Bresson; picture research by Peter Marlow. SIGNED BY JINX RODGER, the photographer's wife; no inscription. 320 pages; over 260 b&w plates; 10.25 x 11.75 inches. LAID-IN is a 4-page illustrated announcement card for an exhibition of work by Rodger with reference to a booksigining with Jinx Rodger's.
