A Very Good plus book in a Very Good dust jacket. Flat SIGNED by the author on the front free end paper. A handsome copy of this novel by one of the great authors of the 20th century, having written "The End of the Affair", "The Heart of the Matter", "Brighton Rock", etc.; signed copies of this book are extremely scarce, this being the only copy available as of this writing. This copy is in very good plus condition with a square tight binding, bright silver lettering over black boards, and clean white pages throughout; the book does show some mild shelf wear to the ends and edges, some light soiling to the exterior text block, and a couple of small indentions to the bottom text block, else near fine or better. Housed in a clean and bright very good dust jacket that does show moderate creasing to the folds and flap edges, minor rubbing and chipping to the spine ends, edges, and corners, and some mild creasing along the panel edges and spine. Overall, a nice, presentable copy, certainly enhanced by Greene's signature; currently a one of a kind item! Not remaindered, not price clipped, not ex-library; in a fresh Mylar cover and will ship in a sturdy box.
