Else a very good clean and tight copy. 235pp + 2pp adverts. Illustrated with many B&W photo plates. Dorothy Constance Peel, aka Mrs C.S. Peel, prolific journalist and writer of numerous books on household management and domestic social history. She wrote the weekly column “La Manage” on cooking and gave advice on economising during the First World War. She was appointed a co-director of the womens’ service in the Ministry of Food during this time along with Mrs Pember Reeves.
