(Minneapolis): Gonfalon Press, 1996. Fallon, Michael. Quarto. Accordionfold, dos-à-dos. One of forty copies, signed by the printer, Michael Fallon. Doris Adams's traditional tale is adorned with glittering illustrations of the story's heroic rabbit, Cufe, while Kate Taluga's essay is dotted with images of corn, shells, and wildflowers. Compiled and printed by Michael Fallon, who heard Adams's storytelling at the 1996 Moundville Native American Festival at Moundville Archaelogical Park in Alabama. Impressive gold, purple, and tan papers give lustre to the text, as well as the binding. The stiff wrappers, mildly and expectedly creased, are wrapped in two threads. Fine.
