London: J. Stratford, 1809. This edition corrected, revised, and considerably improved, by every modern addition and variation in the art by Jacob Christopher Schnebbelie, late apprentice to Messrs. Tupp and Perry, Oxford Street, afterwards Principal Cook at Melun's Hotel Bath; and now of the Albany, London. Contemporary full calf recently rebacked. 464 pages. Engraved frontis of Schnebbelie and the Albany, 7 engraved plates on the rules of carving and 4 plates of table settings (2 folding). Engraved library plate to front paste down. Small damp stain to foredge of frontis. Some light oxidised set off throughout. A nice copy. Fifteenth Edition. Contemporary Full Calf. Good. 220x140mm.

Original mauve cloth with title and decoration stamped in gilt and blind, octavo (5 x 7.5 inches), 360, 61, xii pp. Frontispiece, engraved title page and 2 engraved plates Originally published in London, 1791 as "The House-keepers Instructor, or Universal Family Cook." The first US edition was published in 1829. 61-page section at back separately titled "The New Family Receipt Book" with it's own index, general index following. Frontispiece engraving of a kitchen was drawn by (Henry?) Corbould and engraved by Illman. Cagle & Stafford 354; Lowenstein 735.

London: J. Stratford, 1805. Thirteenth Edition. Leather. Very Good. 8vo. 448 pp + 16 pp index. Rebacked in brown leather over original brown calf boards, new endpapers and new gilt titling to spine. Corners bumped, text block edges soiled and stained, especially at upper fore corner, only slightly affecting interior. Frontispiece with older mending, edges heavily chipped. Scattered foxing and staining throughout, but all text remains readable and all plates are present. Laid in at front are 2 manuscript recipes, one apparently 19th c. and the other 20th c., along with a small newsclipping. 11 copper plates showing carving and setting instructions with 2 fold-out plates showing full table settings.
