A thoughtful book assessing the history and state of the fledging movie industry in 1929. It is highly critical of American movies for their falsification of reality, but equally critical of "dreary psychological films" coming out of Germany and the propaganda films from Russia. The author was an American writer and cultural critic. I would think that this book is a "must have" for the movie historian. Stated first edition. . 12mo 7" - 7½" tall. 156 pages. F4 .
