About This Item

London: Longman, Brown, Green, and Longmans, 1853. 1/2 leather. Very Good +. The 1853 1st edition, elegantly bound in 1/2 red morocco over marbled boards. 5 raised bands, wonderful gilt-decorations (a fox, a hound, a buck, etc.) within the compartments. Tight, solid and VG+, with just a touch of very light wear along the edges and a very small amount of light foxing (mostly along the plates) to the interior. Handsome armorial bookplate ("Herbert John Buckmaster") at the front pastedown. Thin octavo, the 5 plates present as called for and very bright.
