In an opening slip case designed to look like a book. Half green leather and marbled boards with vellum interior matching wrap. Tex unbound. Printed date 19 printed and one blank (apart from a number) 4 page spreads, page size 38 x 28.5 cm. Text consists of the Baudelaire translation in French, with lithographs and a title engraving in brown, with title and other embossments. Internal loose vellum wrap with a slight bend (not a crease). Text is complete, but the number of illustrations given appears short. However, it is correct if the part illustrations running across adjacent spreads are numbered separately. Text condition is fine apart from one of the loose tissue separators which is creased. The box is very good with very light wear and three spots on the spine leather. The upper opening board is very slightly warped.
