Brown cloth with gilt spine lettering red and black front board lettering and black and white pictorial stamping. ix, 253pp, (6pp ads). Frontispiece, map, 5 full-page plates (as called for). Near fine. Very faintest of spine head and tail wear. A tight, quite handsome second printing of Barbour's second title. List at front cites to his third (1901) title, "Captain of the Crew." Superb front board graphic depicts a single cross-country runner. An exceptionally attractive copy.
