About This Item
Boston: James R. Osgood and Company, 1878. Hardcover. 16mo. Original green bevel-edged cloth with black and gilt lettering and pictorial giltstamping. xi, 268pp. Frontispiece, illustrations. Very good. Mild edgewear; front inner hinge a tad loose, but discreetly and archivally strengthened, thus strong; faint contemporary ownership signature on front pastedown. Tight and nice first edition, with bright gilt. Gardner was a Springfield, Massachusetts architect who authored several titles about interior design. Rather uncommon. Move over, Christopher Lowell!
