Book includes two inserts printed from actual woodblocks. 187 full page two-color plates and hundreds of text illustrations. Printed Japanese style, on double folded paper. In publisher's cardboard slipcase. Michener edited the book, wrote a lengthy essay on Hokusai--often called the Leonardo Da Vinci of the Orient--and informative captions for every plate.
