Paris: Venales Reperiuntur Parisius a Johanne Lamberto, 1513. Scarce post-incunable edition of Basil the Great's work in praise of the solitary life which influenced early monasticism. Nicely bound in early twentieth century marbled paper over boards with new endpapers. The text collates a-b8 c3 - lacking the final leaf, C4. The title page has a central woodcut of St Basil with large woodcut initial letters interspersed through the black letter text which is clean and unmarked. This edition was first published in 1510; of this edition which dates between 1511-1513 OCLC locates 2 copies only, one in the Bibliotheque Nationale and one in other French library. OCLC: 491605512.
