Hobun Gafu (Hobun's Picture Book) by Kikuchi Hobun - 1900

Kyoto: Tanaka Jihei, 1900. Soft Cover. Very Good. 8vo. Complete in one volume. Blue cover with printed paper label. 27 single and 12 double page wood cuts with light color ink wash. Prints mostly depict birds with an occasional fish, deer, insect, or mouse. Prints are in nice shape with the occasional light finger smudge. String binding is sound. Some chipping at cover edges. Hobun was a Japanese artist of the Meiji and Taisho period especially noted for his pictures of birds and flowers.
