Volume 1:  [6], VII - XXV, [1] 389, [1] pages, introduction by George Saintsbury. Illustrated endpapers, being a peach coloured swirl against a white background. Red coloured cloth covered boards with self embossed publisher's logo to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Purple coloured tint to the text block edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Volume 2:  [6], VII - XI, [2], 2 - 413, [22  of which 4 is an essay on Everyman's Library by Ernest Rhys, and 16 pages of further titles from publishing house]. Illustrated endpapers  being a peach coloured swirl against a white background, with red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip and dark purple coloured tint to the top text block edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured title to the front panel and back strip. One of the earliest examples of erotica in the English 18th century. Everyman's Library ÂNos. 355 and 356. Volume 1:  Some rubbing and discolouration of the back strip edges; bumping to the top book corners with rubbing of the lower book edges. Light age toning to the text block edges and pages. Previous owners name to the free front end page; with, original bookseller's sticker to the lower left-hand corner of the same page. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. A small piece is missing from the lower edge of the front panel and there is a small hole to the lower edge of the front holdover panel. Rubbing to the dustwrapper edges and panels; with handling marks visible to the dustwrapper. Light browning of the fold over panels and to the back strip. A previous owner has supported a tear to the top back strip edge with tape with the paper still in situ. Volume 2:  Rubbing of the back strip edges and book corners. Light age toning of the text block edges and pages. Previous owners name to the free front end page; and, original bookseller's sticker to the lower left-hand corner. Minor chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. Rubbing of the panels with some sunning also present. Sunning of the fold over panels and to the verso of the dustwrapper.
